YouthBuild KCK
Here at Community Lending of America, we are excited to highlight YouthBuild KCK!
YouthBuild KCK is a local branch of an occupational and educational training program for low income young people ages 16 to 24. They provide opportunities to youth in Wyandotte County. They help people obtain their GED by partnering through a local agency to provide educational support. They also provide opportunities for individuals to get their NCCER, which is a construction certification that provides paid work experiences.
The challenge they are currently facing is having enough enrollees in the program. They currently need 70 participants in every program. They have a three year grant to provide a paid six to nine month experience that will equip young people in Wyandotte County to earn money while they learn, develop leadership skills and provide community service. They provide these opportunities to young people to help them achieve success in their lives through continuing education and working opportunities from the construction certification program.
Help us spread the word throughout Kansas City Kansas that YouthBuild KCK is here to support the community. You can find them on their local Facebook page or call them at (913)-647-4073 if you have any questions. They are looking to enroll 70 participants within the next two years so help us spread the word community!
